Komentaryo sa Mga Bilang 11:34: Chizkuni & Tze'enah Ure'enah

Chizkuni

ויקרא את שם המקום קברות התאוה, “he called the name of this place: graves of lust.” The Torah did not identify who it was who bestowed this name on these graves, just as we find that in Genesis 48,1 we do not know who told Joseph that his father had been taken sick, i.e. ויאמר ליוסף, “someone called Joseph.”

Tze'enah Ure'enah

“Because the people who had the craving were buried there” [11:34]. The place where they were buried was called “Kibroth hattavah” [11:34]. That is to say, graves where they buried those who desired much meat. Even in the grave where they lay, they shouted hunger, hunger. That is to say, hunger; they still desired to eat. So they were shouting in the grave.82I could not find the source of this idea.
